Counseling Services for Children
A variety of individual and group therapeutic approaches are available such as:
- Play Therapy - Therapists use this approach as a powerful therapeutic tool for young children, enabling them to master the current life stress through directed play with a trained worker .
- Family Therapy - The Children's Center works with JFS staff to help the family use it own strengths to handle a crisis or ongoing difficulties in coping.
- Psychiatric Consultation - The Children's Center's staff works closely with outstanding child psychiatrists to develop the best treatment plans for your child. Medication follow ups can be arranged on an as needed basis.
- Art Therapy - Using the medium of art to facilitate expressing difficult feelings.
- Social Skills Groups - Group programs to help children whose neurological and learning difficulties makes social interactions doubly challenging.
